LUCA cases: High quality & authentic
Handmade in Germany since 2009, that stands for high-quality, handmade products with premium quality: And that's what LUCA stands for. Our iPhone wallets are handmade in the Hunsrück. More than 120 work steps are necessary until a LUCA case for the smartphone is finished. It starts with the quality of the materials, the careful selection of the leather, and ends with the careful packaging of our cases. In this way, tailor-made, first-class smartphone bags and wallets with an authentic character are created.
1 wallet: 120 steps
High-quality leather, together with selected nylon and microfiber, forms the basis for our iPhone case. We apply the highest standards when selecting materials. Six pieces of leather are punched out for a LUCA case. The inner lining consists of another 21 parts. The leather is split to the desired thickness before it is processed into a smartphone case. The leather is reinforced and pronounced for the credit card compartments. The leather edges are then sharpened.
The result is a noble, unique piece
The parts are glued together in eleven individual steps. Another 13 operations are necessary for wrapping the blanks and another 16 for sewing and cutting the leather parts. The absolutely clean workmanship is already visible on the seams. Finally, the inside of the iPhone case is painted, cleaned and unplugged.
Now the edges are folded in, also known as folding. Folding is the folding of a decorative material around the edge of a support part by 90° or 180°. The folded material is then attached to the back of the support part using a suitable joining process. Every single step is carried out carefully. The result, after over 120 work steps, is an elegant, handcrafted LUCA case - made in Germany.

LUCA Darmstadt since 2009
When the first iPhone generation appeared on the market in 2007, it quickly became clear to us: The display of this smartphone needs high-quality protection against scratches and wear, but at the same time it should also have practical functions. In a slim design combined as a wallet/purse, credit cards and banknotes should also find their place in the iPhone bag. The 6 card slots and the banknote compartment complement the folding LUCA bag into a wallet with a cell phone compartment.
In 2009, we finally found a partner in Germany for our idea. Our iPhone wallets are handmade in the Hunsrück region. And just as Apple is constantly developing its technologies and has now arrived at the iPhone 15 or the latest generation of the Apple Watch, we have also continuously optimized our iPhone cases taking customer requests into account.
Since 2016 also money wallets
With our iPhone cases we have been able to gain many satisfied, long-term customers. We were also regularly asked about “normal” wallets for people who don’t want to carry their cell phones in their wallets. So in 2016 we decided to also offer some wallets in the usual LUCA quality. This means you can now also choose a wallet with money clip, a wallet with a coin pocket and, since 2023, also our small wallet with leather made from vegetable tanning.
